Rich has spent over 45 years successfully building, running, leading, advising, mentoring, buying and selling professional and business services, software, outsourcing and hardware companies at all stages of development from early stage to multi-billion. These include such well known companies as Accenture (24 years), CSC, DEC, SAP, IBM, EDS, Bellcore, AT Kearney and CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) Group. He has also held key leadership positions in start-up companies that have successfully gone public including Carreker Corporation and Manufacturers Services Ltd. (now Celestica), and in private companies such as TrustWave, Inc. He founded his own firm, Linting Brown Limited, and subsequently merged it into Lamalie Amrop (an executive search Company) subsequently selling the combined Company to Monster.com. He has reinstituted Linting Brown Limited from which he provides senior management consulting and mentoring services as well as private capital. He has relationships with venture capital firms such as TA Associates and FT Ventures, and angel investing organizations such as Tech Coast Angels, largest angel investing group in the United States, and The Irish Angels where he provides management consulting and mentoring services to executives in companies they fund, board of director services and private capital.
In addition to Rich's senior management positions, he provided consulting services while a professional consultant in these organizations to over a thousand companies from start-up to large scale across all major industry sectors. His consulting services have ranged from business strategy and organizational design to business re-engineering and implementation of application information systems and infrastructure. This broad consulting experience coupled with his executive operational experience puts him in a unique position to mentor and advise companies of all types at the operational management, senior management and board of director levels.
Rich has a BA in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in Mathematical Methods from the University of Chicago. He currently teaches graduate students in the Mendoza School of Business, University of Notre Dame.
Rich lives in Laguna Beach, California, with his wife Ginny of 44 years. They have two married children and two grandchildren.
