Siao Linn’s project experience at Waterstone has included working with enterprise software and hardware companies, as well as companies focused on the consumer tech space. The work she has performed has included financial, operational, and strategic analysis. For example, Siao Linn worked to provide advisory on new growth opportunities in adjacent markets for a client who delivers global security applications. In order to prioritize 2-3 growth plays for board consideration, Siao’s role included sizing addressable opportunities, developing growth scenarios, and assessing the prospective to buy, build, or partner in the space. For another client in the enterprise hardware space, Siao helped identify potential plays in the connected commerce space. This work included examining the global retail landscape and providing analysis on how the client could be relevant in innovative e-commerce and m-commerce initiatives. Additionally, Siao has done work with professional services divisions within software companies. This work has included transforming key performance drivers and implementing organizational change management. This type of work has included both stand-alone companies and merger integration work.
Siao Linn joined Waterstone upon completing her MBA at Chicago Booth. While pursuing her MBA, she interned with Cardinal Health, a pharmaceutical distribution company. At Cardinal, she analyzed the forecasting process of the Pharmaceutical Distribution business segment. This included identifying key risk areas, researching industry best practices, and creating a forecasting accuracy scorecard that was adopted as a key performance metric tool.
Siao Linn spent the early part of her career as a consultant at CSC Consulting (Computer Sciences Corporation), where she worked with multiple leading healthcare providers. Her work included developing bids and proposals, project management, and writing design documentation, which incorporated complex business and technical requirements. She also has experience with building financial models, writing white papers, and leading efforts to standardize business processes for several clients. Siao Linn has trained subject matter experts in supply chain tracking capabilities and implemented improvement processes, by traveling to multiple manufacturing sites in the U.S. Additionally, Siao is well-versed at performing and analyzing forecasting, budgeting, and project planning activities, as well as presenting results and enhancement recommendations to leadership teams.
Siao Linn holds a B.S. in Business/Economics and Kinesiology from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Finance and Accounting.
