Why Doesn't My Software Remember "Me"?

As SaaS solutions become more prevalent, the perpetual upgrade cycle allows for constant updates and patches.  While our software is now always up to date, it can be very confusing for the end user when everything changes after a software update.  John Parkinson, Affiliate Partner, insists that software should do a better job conforming to its users, considering our computers have more than enough storage and processing capabilities.  Parkinson argues that if software can observe a user's interactions, remember a user's preferences, and remember his or her most-performed tasks, it can become more personalized and easy to use, especially after updates.
