Derrek supports the team through a combination of quantitative and qualitative research and analysis. An example of a recent client engagement focused primarily on a deep dive into customer retention for an enterprise software company.
Prior to Waterstone, Derrek worked at PMKBNC – an Interpublic Group Company marketing agency – as a strategy insights and analytics analyst, where he performed industry trend research to generate actionable marketing insights for brands including American Express, Samsung, and PepsiCo.
Derrek earned a double-major from UCLA with a BA in Economics and BS in Chemistry-Materials Science. During his time at UCLA, he cofounded a consulting organization that helped student groups on campus solve strategic problems. In addition, he was an editor for the newspaper and covered the UCLA basketball and football teams as a beat reporter.
