James advises clients on growth strategy, go-to-market planning, corporate development initiatives and operational improvement. He specializes in delivering value to technology companies and their private equity investors through analysis of markets, competitive landscapes, financial and operational performance, and organic and inorganic growth opportunities.

James’ experience prior to Waterstone focused on corporate strategy within the tech sector. Most recently, he was a Senior Analyst in the Corporate Development and Strategy group at Reval, a high-growth SaaS provider of corporate treasury software. James managed Reval’s strategic initiative program where he was responsible for building business cases and financial models for strategic initiatives including acquisitions, partnerships, expansion into new markets, and major product enhancements. James also served as project manager for Reval’s IPO preparation and managed business development for a newly created business unit.

James received an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business with emphases in Strategy and Marketing. He also holds a BA in Economics from Hamilton College.
