Ron is a management consultant, executive, investor and advisor to early and growth stage companies. He is an expert in enterprise cloud communications platforms with direct industry experience around telecommunications, networks and enterprise unified communications. His strengths include formulating information technology business models, building innovative product roadmaps in pursuit of product/market fit, forming and managing early stage go-to-market and Customer Success strategies, and building sales and marketing strategies around lead generation and strategic partners – all with focus on small and large global enterprise customers.

Ron was the President and CEO of SDD, Inc., which pioneered cloud-based enterprise telecommunications software and related professional services for the hospitality and travel industry. SDD’s software and services were adopted globally by firms ranging from Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Wyndham and Intercontinental to Disney, MGM Mirage and many others. His solutions were packaged by numerous enterprise telecommunications service providers, including British Telecom, Verizon, AT&T and others.

Ron led SSD from its early stages through its acquisition by publicly held Broadsoft, Inc., which was recently acquired by Cisco Systems, Inc. and where Ron served as Vice President for Large Enterprise Solutions.

Previously, Ron was a management consultant to the telecommunications and information technology industries at Ernst & Young. He also led Ernst & Young’s academic research programs regarding the strategy and management of technology-driven companies. He began his career in IBM’s product engineering group and later within IBM’s product and marketing organizations.

Ron continues today as an advisor, investor, interim CEO, and board member to early stage companies and their founders, including artificial intelligence-based companies focused on sales effectiveness and on employee engagement and hiring. He’s a lead advisor and mentor to innovative technology startups within the Florida state university system business incubators around network security, quantum computing and cryptology, gamification of education and mobility-based access control systems.

Ron holds a BS in Mathematics from Saint John’s University (Minnesota) and an MSc in the Management of Technology from the University of Minnesota. He is a native of International Falls, Minnesota.
